Our Method: FEM
The Functional Emotional Movement (FEM) method is an orthopedically informed approach to bridging the BodyMind connection. This body-centered, movement-based approach to guided self-healing works by rebalancing your nervous system and reclaiming your body’s structural integrity to relieve pain, improve movement, and heal from the inside out. Borrowing foundational principles from several disciplines, including orthopedics, mental health, neurology, and meditation, this integrative method empowers you with tools, knowledge, and a systematic approach to physical and emotional healing.

The BodyMind Approach
We believe body and mind are inseparable and are best healed in tandem. While some are more body-focused and some are more mind-focused, every one of our classes works towards helping you in bridging your BodyMind connection.
Along with learning the foundational skills of the FEM method, our Baseline classes focus on increasing range of motion, decreasing pain, strengthening, movement education, decreasing fear of movement and increasing body awareness.

Just as exercise strengthens your body, mindfulness strengthens your mind. True to form, our mindfulness classes have a body-based element which is our secret sauce to bridging the BodyMind gap. Many new to mindfulness practice find this style more approachable as an entry point. For seasoned meditators, body-based mindfulness can be a powerful way of elevating your practice.
